A Rare American Family
Drs. Louise and Daniel Richman were the proud parents of three boys, Doug, Lee and Alan. Doug and Lee are medical doctors in California and Colorado respectively. Alan became a reknowned medical malpractice defense attorney in the Colorado area. At the peak of his practice, Alan was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and was abruptly retired from a very successful career. He suddenly passed away on Super Tuesday, February 5, 2008.
Kathryn Ballinger is a coperate attoreny and former wife of Alan Richman. She's been the forerunner in making sure that Alan was happy, content and that his needs were adequately catered to. Just like his grandparents and two uncles, their son, Aaron, is preparing to enter medical school in September 2008. Annie on the other hand, has chosen to follow in her parents footsteps. She plans to attend law school in the fall.
At the saddest era of Alan's life when he was most vulnerable, an unlikely man was privileged to become Alan's primary caregiver. His responsibility quickly transformed to something more like a mssion than a job. Before too long, he'd become a member of the family in the true sense of the word. He has recived a lot more love, care and attention than he truly deserves. Even with Alan's passing, never again will he ever see himself as anything else than a part of the Richman family. He'd better not even try to detach himself because this bunch would not have it any other way. He just happen to have a weird last name, but he's become a Richman. He belongs with them. It is a tremendous honor to dedicate this section of the site to such a wonderful and loving family.
